Dr Marco Funari has recently joined the S4H Team as Postdoctoral Researcher. Dr Funari also served as a postdoctoral researcher at UMinho for the OPHERA Project.

Dr Funari comes from Italy, where he studied Building-Architectural Engineering at the University of Calabria, from which he received his PhD in Structural Mechanics. He also spent a research period at the University of Dundee, UK.

His expertise lies in developing advanced numerical models that simulate the behaviour of masonry structures. Within the STAND4HERITAGE Project, Dr Funari will contribute to the development of an integrated numerical/analytical approach for the assessment of the out-of-plane behaviour of heritage masonry buildings (WP4).
