NEW PH.D. STUDENT OF S4H TEAM

Mrs. Vadalà from Italy recently joined the S4H team as a Ph.D. student. Federica graduated from the University of Catania, Italy, in May 2021. Her skills encompass both structural and geotechnical engineering. Her research interests fall in the topic of the seismic vulnerability assessment of masonry churches through nonlinear incremental dynamic analyses based on a discrete macro-element modeling approach.
She also carried out research studies regarding the influence of mesh discretization in the global behavior of URM structures and its impact on the calibration of the mechanical properties of the structural model.
During the S4H project, she will mainly be responsible for WP4, which provides a set of new standards combined with an integrated analytical approach for the out-of-plane seismic assessment and subsequent intervention design of heritage masonry buildings. In particular, her focus will be on the probabilistic-based analysis for the safety assessment of masonry structures. (https://stand4heritage.org/team/federica-vadala/)
