Congratulations to the PhD candidates of the STAND4HERITAGE team, Ms. Carla Colombo and Mr. Georgios Vlachakis, who have successfully completed the first year of their PhD studies by defending their thesis projects.

The thesis plan of Ms. Carla Colombo, titled “Experimental campaign on the out-of-plane behaviour of masonry structures by means of static and dynamic tests”, gives an insight into the experimental tests related to the second work package (WP2) of the S4H project. The thesis plan of Mr. Giorgos Vlachakis, titled “Out-of-plane dynamic behaviour of masonry walls through numerical, analytical and experimental methods”, focuses on the development of numerical and analytical tools to study the seismic behaviour of masonry structures and falls within the third work package (WP3) of the S4H project.
