LEST’s main lab is under renovation in order to prepare for the arrival of the shaking table.
The work areas were all redesigned with new markings of the floor and the frames with the hydraulic actuators were reorganised.
Regarding the first experimental tests, a tilting table is already being designed in order to test the first samples.
The current design of the table takes into account the dimensions of the pre-existing frames in the lab, as well as the dimensions and load capacity of the hydraulic actuators.
These tests are meant to study and characterise the materials used in future tests.
For the first tests granite specimens will be used. These are expected to be ready in the next few weeks.
