NEW VISITING PROFESSOR AT UMINHO

NEW VISITING PROFESSOR AT UMINHO

A new researcher has recently arrived in UMinho who will be part of the team for the next two months as a visiting member for the Stand4Heritage project. His name is Mislav Stepinac and he is an assistant professor from the University of Zagreb. He applied for a Visiting Research Fellowship for ERC granted project with the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ).

After a long trip by car, he arrived in Guimarães to start a collaboration with Professor Paulo Lourenço within S4H. This experience will contribute to the growth of his proposal for the ERC grant for the year 2021-2022.

Despite his young age, his curriculum is already full of experiences in a lot of countries as Germany, Sweden, Canada, Slovenia and many others. At the moment, he is a researcher at the Department of Structures at the University of Zagreb, where he teaches the course of Earthquake Engineering. He is the leader of the ARES project, which deals with the assessment and rehabilitation of existing structure and in 2019 he won the award for the best young scientist at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Zagreb.

We are pleased to welcome a highly qualified researcher like him who will contribute to achieve the objectives of the project. So don’t hesitate to contact us, STAND4HERITAGE is open to new researchers!
