Sajad was a graduate student of structural engineering from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran. He has accomplished his thesis on the experimental investigation of fracture behavior and mechanical characteristics of Rammed Earth materials. He is experienced in professional engineering practice and was involved in the post-earthquake seismic retrofit of buildings in a national project in Iran after the 7.3 Mw earthquake in Kermanshah, Iran 2017. Being sponsored by IOM in 2020, he became a member of the project of rehabilitation of cultural heritage and monuments of Afghanistan and a member of large-scale building design and construction for residential townships as a structural engineer. Additionally, he was teaching as a lecturer at private universities in Kabul during 2020-2021.
Motivated by the earthquake phenomenon, he joined the STAND4HERITAGE team at the University of Minho as a Ph.D. Candidate in September 2021. He is mainly involved in WP1, which is related to modeling the stochastic behavior of earthquake ground shakings.
