The calcium-silicate blocks ordered from Xella arrived this week to the University.
These specimens are homogeneous, contrasting with the granite specimens already ordered.
This way we will be able to analyse both an industrially made and a natural material and draw comparisons between them.
According to the manufacturer these blocks have the following characteristics:
– Quantity: 580
– Dimensions: 240 x 115 x 71 [mm]
– Bulk Density: 1800 – 2000 kg/m3
– Minimum compressive strength: 25 MPa
