MATERIALS FOR THE SHAKING TABLE TESTS

MATERIALS FOR THE SHAKING TABLE TESTS

The study of the material that will be used for shaking table tests and the preparation of the equipment setup in the laboratory continues.

In the next few months, static tests will be developed that will allow the selected materials to be characterised, in order to choose the most suitable one of the experimental analyses. This choice will be based on criteria such as the homogeneity of the mechanical characteristics, their durability during the tests, and consequently the ability to obtain repeatable results during the experimental campaign.

The materials to be tested belong to different categories and their results will then be compared. These include: granite and limestone stone blocks with high geometric precision of the surfaces, industrially-produced stones in calcium-silicate without holes and 3D printed plastic blocks.

In the coming weeks, the first required blocks will be produced and the first static tests will be developed.
