The Historical and Masonry Structures (HMS) group of the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE), University of Minho, Portugal, plans to open soon multiple positions.
Position available on Earthquake Engineering and Masonry (Junior/Experienced Researcher)
One or two positions for a junior or experienced researcher already with a PhD (duration of the contract planned is 3 years) to join the STAND4HERITAGE project, which is funded by a European Research Council Advanced Grant.
- One position with a focus on design guidelines for performance-based assessment to support the intervention design of heritage buildings. Experience in performance-based seismic assessment, vulnerability curves, and masonry is ideal. Necessary qualifications: PhD degree in Civil Engineering or Earthquake Engineering.
- One position with a focus on shaking table control and testing in rocking blocks and masonry structures. Experience in shaking table testing and control is ideal. Necessary qualifications: PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control or Earthquake Engineering.

Position available on Control Systems for Testing and Earthquake Engineering
One PhD grant (duration of the planned grant is 3 years) to join the HybridNET project, which is funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). HybridNET project aims the development of a hybrid simulation (HS) framework and its application through a network of geographically distributed infrastructures, with emphasis on multi-hazard structural response assessment. Necessary qualifications: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control or Earthquake Engineering.
